In my opinon, a pimp is someone who gets alot of attention from the opposite sex, doesn't have to be sexual attention, but alot of people are attracted to the person and tryna get on...what seperates a pimp from a player is how they respond to this attention.
A pimp doesn't really have too much of a response. they're flattered but thats about it. A player is more of the pursuer whereas a pimp is pursued.
a player responds to the attention, and tries to get on jus about anything walking. a player "PLAYS". Pursuing the opposite sex is jus all in fun...a game of hit and quit. a player is someone who is, in lack of a better word, a hoe and that applies to both men and women. However in some cases, people fail to differentiate between a pimp and a player and thats when it comes to gender lines. When a girl is "pimping" she is considered a Hoe, but when a man is a "player" (the real hoe)he's highly respected by his boys. this a very common double standard. both men and women should get the same label for the same activities.
i think a pimp is someone who uses girls for their goodies (sex or money) and a player actually takes time to make the girl feel like she is special and yet still uses them for their goodies. Both are the same but have different titles because of their treatment of the women. A pimp seems to let his girls know that they are not the only one while a player is discrete in his promiscuity.
mmmmmmmmm i was a littel iffy about your point at first miss feminist perspective, but ur last statement kinda cleared it all up. i strongly agree with players being discrete because it my opinion players are tryna be sneaky about what they're doin behind female/males backs...and a pimp lets a girl/boy know straight up, yet the girl/boy still chooses to mess with him/her, which is what makes the a person a pimp. But as far as the treatment by the two, i think u were lookin at the pimp in an occupational sense lol...i was referring to more of a personality trait...in my opinion a pimp treats their significant others more respectively while a player is only in it for the goods lol
